Blue nettle wedged in the web of the outhouse window. A primer for memory while sat bare on the cold seat. Spray the windshield wipers knowing the fluid tank is empty. Buy discount farm stand flowers left to die on the kitchen counter. Cold water running on already wet hands. Everything else is just information. Close the fence. Hand caught in the web. Heaps in the compost pile. Rolling to turn over. Tilling, tilling, tilling. Grief through the vein. Hold the hose head closer. And closer. Remember to turn the tap off. It may freeze overwinter.
