I work as a Restoration Technician for Habitat Acquisition Trust (HAT). Here are some of the photos I have taken while in the field.
At HAT, I work in a small crew in endangered ḰȽO,ELENEȻ ecosystems (Garry oak and associated ecosystems) across lək̓ʷəŋən, W̱SÁNEĆ, SC’IȺNEW, T'Sou-ke Nations, and other First Nations territories (primarily Southern VI and Southern Gulf Islands).
Our day-to-day requires identifying native and introduced plant species, recognizing SAR listed plant and animal presence and developing basic action plans for each site.
We
occasionally prepare sites in order to plant native species, or assist with planting projects led by other organizations in the community.
